NOBLE VALENCE

different path. same pursuit.
Noble Valence provides evidence-backed frameworks, tools, and guidance to help coaches, athletic leaders, neurodivergent athletes, and their families build clearer, more effective athletic environments.Grounded in the understanding that some athletes process communication, pressure, feedback, and transitions differently, Noble Valence helps bring greater clarity, consistency, and usability to the athletic environments.Better systems don’t just improve performance. They strengthen the entire athletic experience.Interested? Reach out
About noble valence

Noble Valence begins with a practical reality: many athletes are working toward the same goals while needing different pathways to understand expectations, respond to feedback, and perform consistently. Our work sits at the meeting point between coaching realities and athlete experience. We translate research on neurodiversity, learning, communication, and regulation into practical systems that can be used in real athletic environments.
Structured Divergence™ is the core framework behind Noble Valence. It recognizes that athletes do not all respond in the same way, and that athletic environments function more effectively when that variability is accounted for intentionally. The framework focuses on clarity, structure, communication, and usability. By reducing unnecessary friction in coaching environments, Structured Divergence™ helps support stronger athlete engagement, response, and performance.
why we're called
noble valence
Noble Valence takes its name from chemistry.
Noble gases are known for stability. Their outer shell is complete, which allows them to remain steady instead of reacting easily to everything around them.Valence is an atom’s outer shell: the place where connection, bonding, and interaction with other atoms can happen.Noble gases represent stability + Valence represents the outer edge where connection happens = Noble Valence built on both ideas: strong internal structure and better points of connection. That idea became the foundation for our name.In athletics, stability does not happen by accident. Athletes need training environments with clear communication, consistent structure, and constructive reinforcement, especially when they process communication, pressure, feedback, and transitions differently.Noble Valence reflects our goal: to help coaches, athletes, and families build stronger systems that reduce unnecessary friction and make athletic participation more accessible, effective, and sustainable.Different path. Same pursuit.
About the founder
Noble Valence was founded by Dr. Andrew Buck, whose background spans implementation science, athletics, education, research, and neurodivergent support. His work reflects more than two decades of experience with a sustained focus on strengthening systems, improving practice, and helping leaders build environments where individuals can engage and perform more effectively. That depth and combination of experience shape Noble Valence’s practical, evidence-backed frameworks, tools, and guidance for coaches, athletic leaders, neurodivergent athletes, and families. In his free time, Dr. Buck enjoys hiking, photography, travel, and time outdoors with his wife, Laura, and their three children.
for coaches

Coaches: neurodivergent athletes are already on your teams.Built for coaches working from youth leagues through collegiate athletics and beyond, the Noble Valence frameworks help coaches create clearer, more usable systems in which neurodivergent athletes can understand, respond, and perform. Because when structure improves, performance has room to rise. Most teams already include athletes with different processing styles, stress responses, communication needs, and regulation patterns. Noble Valence helps coaches build clearer systems that improve access to instruction, feedback, expectations, and development.
Start with the Coach Field Guide
The Noble Valence Coach Field Guide is a free digital resource and a practical introduction to supporting neurodivergent athletes in everyday coaching environments.

This guide helps coaches recognize where unclear instruction, feedback, transitions,or environmental demands may be creating unnecessary friction. The guide introduces Structured Divergence™ as a way to build clearer systems while responding more effectively to how individual athletes process, communicate, and perform. It also provides practical tools coaches can begin applying immediately.
